Amy Jacobson Suing Television Network For Defamation

Former NBC 5 reporter Amy Jacobson has filed a lawsuit against CBS 2 for their part in showing a video of her in a bathing suit that she says helped ruin her career.

The network showed the tape last summer, showing Jacobson at a pool party at the Plainfield home of Craig Stebic, whose wife Lisa has been missing since early in 2007.

She was covering the story of the disappearance of Lisa, leading many to wonder why she would be at the house in the first place.

Many had warned her that she was getting to close to the case, and she was fired soon after.

The lawsuit against the network is for $1 million, with Jacobson suing for defamation of character, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Lisa Stebic has still not been found.

Drew Barrymore Splits From Boyfriend Justin Long

Drew Barrymore has reportedly split from her long time boyfriend Justin Long.

They had been dating for one year, and this break up has come as a huge surprise to many.

Both Barrymore, 33, and Long, 30, co-star in the upcoming movie “He’s Just Not That Into You.” As it turns out, they are no longer into each other but are remaining friends.

Long recently appeared in the audience of the Oprah show when Barrymore was being interviewed and all appeared to be fine and dandy.

“This relationship is great,” Barrymore told Winfrey. “It’s healthy, it’s productive, and it’s supportive. It’s full of humor and a lot of fun.”

The reason for the break up is not known. As stated above, the former lovers are still friends.

Ringo Starr Celebrates 68th Birthday In Chicago

Ringo Starr celebrated his 68th birthday in style in Chicago at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Starr, drummer for The Beatles, stated that his dream for the day was to spread peace and love, and he definitely did that, handing out cup cakes to more than 300 people in attendance.

He celebrated with family and friends, proclaiming “Twelve o’clock — peace and love” when the clock struck 12.

Barbara Bach, his wife of 27 years was also in attendance.

“If you could pan around, you could see Chicago is full of peace and lovers,” he added.

Starr is currently touring with his new band, called the All Star Band. Their next gigg is this Sunday.

McConaughey and Girlfriend Have A Baby Boy

Actor Matthew McConaughey and his girlfriend are the proud parents of a new baby boy.

Camila Alves gave birth to the couple’s first child last night. A name has not yet been chosen.

We first became aware of the budding baby back in January when McConaughey wrote the news on his blog.

The baby weighed in over 7lbs and from all reports is doing excellent.

Alves is 24 years old, and McConaughey is 38. The couple have been together for the last 2 years.

Canadian Band Nickelback Signs Contract With Live Nation

The rock band Nickelback is the latest group to ink a long term deal with the promotion company Live Nation.

The contract spans 3 albums and 3 tours. Financial details of the deal were not released, but one can safely bet that the Canadian rockers will receive quite the pretty penny.

The groups’ last album sold more than 10 million copies.

Before the new contract will actually go into action, the band must fulfill obligations to their current label Road Runner, including 2 albums and a greatest hits package.

Live Nation is based out of Los Angeles, and have recently signed U2 and Shakira to long term concert promoting contracts.

Britney Spears Making Video For Madonna Tour

Popstar Britney Spears is reportedly going to be creating video footage for an upcoming Madonna tour.

Madonna’s tour is fast approaching, and will begin in Cardiff, Wales, on August 23.

The tour will feature stops around Europe before coming to North America later this summer.

According to a rep for Madonna, “There is footage being shot of Britney some time this week in conjunction with Madonna’s upcoming (Sticky & Sweet) tour.”

The majority of the shows are already sold out, and will feature her songs from her recently released Hard Candy album as well as other old favorites.

Madonna’s tour will end in Mexico City at the end of November.

Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas Will Marry Jesse Cisncsak

The Bachelorette has finally come to an end with DeAnna Pappas deciding to marry none other than Jesse Cisncsak.
Cisncsak, is 25 years old and lives as a professional snowborder.

Jason Mesnick, 31, was turned down by DeAnna. She may live to regret that due to him being an account executive, with more money for sure than the younger Cisncsak.

“I know she’s the one. I’m so in love with DeAnna, I don’t even know how to put it into words, how badly I want to be engaged to her,” said Jesse.

The couple have also announced their wedding date, which is May 9 2009.

Kidman Gives Birth To Baby Girl

It is being reported that actress Nicole Kidman has given birth to a baby girl.

Sunday Rose Urban was born this morning in Nashville, and both mommy, and daddy Keith Urban are very happy.

She topped the scales at a whopping 6 pounds, 7.5 ounces.

“Husband Keith was by Nicole’s side, and mother and baby are very well,” said spokesman Paul Freundlich.

Kidman already has two children with ex hubby Tom Cruise: Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13.

Nicole and Keith also recently celebrated their 2nd wedding anniversary.

Brinkley Divorce Trial Enters Second Week

The messy divorce trial of Christie Brinkley and Peter Cook is now in its second week, with an affair now being brought into testimony.

Bridget Nisivoccia, 36, is believed to have had an affair with Cook, a contributing factor to the couple’s messy divorce.

According to reports, she was hired by Cook to perform interior designing work for the couple’s new home.

“We have mutual clients and share a professional relationship and a respected friendship,” Nisivoccia told a New York Newspaper.

Brinkley, taking a break from the trial over the weekend, spent the 4th of July holiday with none other than her ex husband Billy Joel.

Cook reportedly spent the day on his boat with his 13-year old son Jack, and girlfriend Suzanne Shaw.

The couple split in 2006 after 10 years of marriage.

Bon Jovie Will Play Free Concert In New York

It has been announced that Bon Jovi will be playing a free concert in New York Central Park.

The concert will take place on July 12th, and will be the kick off for the MLB baseball allstar game, to be played in New York on July 15.

It will begin at 8 PM, and according to reports, will not be televised.

“We’ve gotten the chance to bookend what is the most successful tour in the world this year with a free concert for anyone in New York,” frontman Jon Bon Jovi said at a news conference alongside New York mayor Michael Bloomberg and other officials. “I just travelled the world again, and New York is still the greatest city in the world.”

Tickets can be picked up as early as July 2nd from baseball parks around New York.

This years’ allstar game is being played at Yankee stadium and will feature the best of both the National and American leagues.
