Jerry Sloan resigns as Jazz coach

It is being reported that Jerry Sloan has resigned as coach of the Utah Jazz. Sloan, who just recently returned to the bench after beating lung cancer had been coach of the Jazz since 1988, and this season had coached the club to a mark of 31-23.

He also had his own career as a player in the association, spanning 11 years with the Bulls and Baltimore Bullets. Sloan, 68, has a career record of 1,221-803 as a coach and was inducted into the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame as a coach in 2009.
