Ford suing Ferrari for pateant infringement

It is being reported that Ford have filed a lawsuit against Ferrari for using one of their trademarked names on a vehicle. Ferrari named its 2011 Formula 1 racing car the “F150,” a big no-no because the name F150 is a trademark of Ford as it is one of the company’s best selling trucks.

Ferrari’s F150 logo is also a striking similar logo to the one on the truck, and in the suit, Ford is requesting that they stop using the name and the logo. “Ferrari has misappropriated the F-150 trademark in naming its new racing vehicle the ‘F150′ in order to capitalize on and profit from the substantial goodwill that Ford has developed in the F-150 trademark,” Ford said in a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit.
