GOP Rep. Chris Lee has resigned after pics of him shirtless found their way onto the internet. Gossip website Gawker broke the story in which the Senate rep allegedly emailed a shirtless pic of himself to a woman he met on Craigslist.
He posted a message to his own website this evening, reading: “I regret the harm that my actions have caused my family, my staff and my constituents.” He continued: “The challenges we face in Western New York and across the country are too serious for me to allow this distraction to continue, and so I am announcing that I have resigned my seat in Congress effective immediately.”
