It is being reported that Jewish singer and song writer Debbie Friedman has died. She died early this morning from complications of pneumonia while staying at a hospital in Orange County.
Throughout her lengthy musical career, Friedman released 19 different albums both in English and Hebrew. Born in New York, she was one of the first to manage to successfully incorperate religion into contemporary style music. She is best known for her song of the prayer for healing called “Mi Shebeirach.” Rest in peace Debbie Friedman.
