Sideline reporter Jeannine Edwards does not really like being referred to as sweetcakes, and ESPN is also not a fan of the remark as they yanked radio sportscaster Ron Franklin for using it during a production meeting on Friday. The 68 year old used the remark when Edwards joined his conversation and when she told him that she did not appreciate being called that, he called her a very bad name.
ESPN pulled him from broadcasting the Fiesta Bowl on Saturday and had also tried to pull him from Friday’s Chick-fil-A Bowl, but were unable to find a replacement in time. Franklin has not yet commented on the incident.
