Montreal Alouette Tony Proudfoot Passes Away

Former CFL star Tony Proudfoot has lost his battle with Lou Gehrig’s disease. The one time Montreal Alouette who played for the club back in the 70′s was diagnosed with the terminal illness back in 2007 and despite a couragious fight his life came to an end at 61 years.

Throughout his football career, the defensive back was part of two Grey Cup teams with Montreal, but also had playing time with the B.C. Lions. When diagnosed with the disease, instead of simply giving up, he vowed to fight to the bitter end, and even established the Tony Proudfoot Fund for the continued research of ALS. RIP Tony Proudfoot.
