It is being reported that the son of former NBA point guard nick van exel has been charged with murder. Nickey Maxwell Van Exel, 20 was arrested on Wednesday night and now faces a capital murder charge after the body of 23 year old Bradley Bassey Eyo was found near a lake.
Nickey reportedly told police that he was the one who pulled the trigger, while the pair were playing with a loaded shotgun that he says he did not know was loaded. After he killed his best friend, Nickey moved the body because he “panicked” according to his lawyer, Paul Johnson. “It’s a real sad situation,” Johnson said. “Emotions are running high, and, obviously, we recognize that some very bad decisions were made on how he responded.”
