Yesterday, December 16 Facebook took a dive for a brief period of time, beginning at 4:30 PM and lasting for approximately half an hour. The techies at the largest social networking website on the internet were beginning the roll out of some new services at the time of the outage, and due to unexpected problems they were forced to take Facebook offline for a brief period of time.
According to the powers that be, a staff member for Facebook accidentally leaked sensative data thus the site had to be taken down to make sure nobody’s privacy was compromised. “For a brief period of time, some internal prototypes were made public to a number of people externally.” read a message. “As a result, we took the site down for a few minutes. It’s back up, and we apologise for the inconvenience.” Some of the new features being introduced include: redesigned brand pages, a revamped photos section and a new page management feature.
