Facebook junkies were left twiddling their thumbs today as the leading social networking website on the internet went offline for a brief period of time. Starting at approximately 4:15 PM, many users reported not being able to access Facebook’s site, just around the time when Facebook began rolling out some new features including redesigned brand pages and a new photo section.
The outage lasted approximately half an hour for the majority of users, and there was a message posted by the techies at Facebook which reads: “We are currently investigating sitewide issues that will affect Facebook Platform. We apologize for any inconvenience and will post here with updates.” A message posted to Twitter read: “Facebook is available again after being down for a brief period. We apologize for the inconvenience.”
