It is being reported out of the UK today that assault charges filed against footballer Andy Carroll have been dropped.
The England and Newcastle forward was originally arrested back in October and charged with assault for beating up an ex girlfriend.
According to authorities, the charges were dropped because of a lack of evidence linking the 21 year old striker to any wrong doing.
If he had been charged, it would’ve resulted in a huge hit for English football, as he is one of the most promising up and comers in recent memory.
In the Premier League this season he is tied for the lead in goals scored with 10.
