In a statement released by TNT they say that one of their most watched shows will be coming to an end at the end of its next season. “The Closer,” a drama starring Emmy winner Kyra Sedgwick will run for its seventh season and upon its conclusion it will be terminated because Sedgwick wants to move onto other projects.
The detective drama is watched by more than eight million viewers each week, and has been a fixture on the network since 2005. Sedgwick plays Los Angeles Police Department Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, who is blessed with an uncanny ability to solve murders. Filming for the final season of the drama will begin in the spring of 2011.
