There is no hotter female country music artist in the world today than newly married Carrie Underwood. Last night at the American Country Awards held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, she took home the most covetted award of the evening, the Artist of the Year.
“We have had the most amazing year out on the road but we wouldn’t be doing anything if there weren’t people out there sitting in that audience,” Underwood said when she accepted her award. “So to everybody that came out to see us [or] anybody else out here, you guys are awesome for supporting us like you do. God bless the fans.”
Trace Adkins had the honor of hosting the first ever American Country Awards show, and wasted little time in mocking Lady Gaga, waring a pair of meat chaps. Some of the biggest names in country music took to the stage to perform, including Rascal Flatts, Alan Jackson, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan.
