Prince William wants the 2018 World Cup for Britain

When it comes to the most popular search terms on Yahoo for the year, World Cup is up there.

The site, which fails in popularity when it comes to Google, logged an average number of 631 million visitors each month over 2010, a great majority of whom were very interested in tracking the World Cup which was played in South Africa.

The race to score the 2018 and 2022 World Cups is also drawing a lot of attention, as the winning bidders will be announced today.

Today Prince William begged the case of England to host the 2018 World Cup, saying that he loves soccer and that it would be an honor for the UK to host the event.

William added: “We can deliver extraordinary public occasions – I certainly hope as I’m planning quite a big one myself next year.

“It will be truly a FIFA World Cup for the world.”
