They have surpassed expectations though and now have the complete support of the FDA to conduct a human embryonic stem cell trial to repair spinal cords of humans.

The hope is that these will help repair severely damaged spinal cords of humans.

Those who will be included in the trial will all have already suffered severe injuries that cannot be cured by traditional medicine.

California-based Geron Corporation will be conducting these human trial, and will be the first ever seen around the world.

There is great anticipation surrounding these tests as they could prove to be wildly successful and lead to a whole new way to treat people with these injuries, helping them avoid paralysis.
