Hollywood (ChatterShmatter) – It appears that it is not the end of the road for Star Trek just yet as a sequel is in the works for the franchise.
There will be a sequel to the feature film Star Trek that is set to hit theaters this year.
The first Star Trek film is going to be released by Paramount in theaters in May 8th, but big plans are already in store for the future.
These future plans include a sequel as a team of writers have already been set up to begin work on it.
J.J. Abrams, who has brought us this first film, will work on the sequel as well.
The belief is that the sequel to Star Trek, which will release in May, will hit in May of 2011.
This will allow for an installment of Star Trek films to be released in theaters, with likely more to follow.
