A new British survey has found that many women are unaware of the fact that drinking too much alcohol can significantly raise their risk of breast cancer.

The survey, performed in the UK found that only 1 in 5 people surveyed knew of the increased breast cancer risk if women drank more than recommended amounts of booze.

The study found that the more glasses of wine a woman drank daily, the greater her risk was of being diagnosed with breast cancer.

Based on the study, it is fair to say that far to many women living in the UK are unknowingly raising their risk of breast cancer.

The study was conducted on approximately 2000 men and women, who did know that drinking too much was bad for your liver and kidneys.

It is estimated that there are more than 4 million women drinking more alcohol than is recommended for good health.

In the UK each year it is estimated that more than 45000 breast cancer cases are diagnosed.

Public Health Minister Dawn Primarolo said: “It’s shocking, even for me, to see the potential risks of drinking over recommended guidelines in black and white.”
