Country singer Mindy McCready has been sent to jail for 60 days due to her violating her probation she was on for a 2004 drug violation.
She was charged back in June for falsifying her community service records and as a result will spend time in the big house.
“I am working very hard to put all of this behind me as quickly as possible so I can get back to what I like to do most: sing, write songs, and entertain,” said McCready in a statement Monday morning.
According to reports, she is also working hard to regain custody of her little boy, a fact that will be made hard by her being locked up for the next 8 weeks.
McCready also said in the statement: “I would like to thank my fans for their unwavering support as I continue to work on my recovery and to regain custody of my precious son, Zander.”
She will begin to serve her sentence in Tennessee starting on Tuesday.
