Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has written and released a song for the Chicago Cubs
Eddie Vedder, the frontman for the band Pearl Jam has written and released a song specificly for the Chicago Cubs baseball team.
The song was requested by Cubs great Ernie Banks, in an attempt to get the club over the hump.
The song, which was made available on the band’s web site this week, has been received very well, and is playing on radio stations and at Cubs stadium.
The Cubs have not won the World Series in 100 years, so the hope is that the song will give the team the needed boost as they enter the MLB playoffs.
“Someday we’ll go all the way,” the song goes. “Yeah, someday we’ll go all the way.”
If that “someday” is this year, only time will tell.
