Mackenzie Phillips has been arrested at an airport in Los Angeles on charges relating to drug possession
It is being reported that actress Mackenzie Phillips has been arrested on charges of drug possession while at a Los Angeles airport.
Phillips, 48 was arrested when the drugs were found on her after she failed to go through a security checkpoint, and was subsequently arrested.
While searching her, police found small amounts of both cocaine and heroin, both of which are illegal drugs.
The drugs were consealed in baggies and balloons, but were still found by authorities.
For years now, she has had problems with drugs, a contributing factor to her being fired from the television show, One Day at a Time.
“She was being screened by airport security when a small amount of what appeared to be heroin and cocaine were found on her person,” Sgt. Jim Holcomb said. “She was arrested at about 10 a.m. and is still in custody.”
The representative for Phillips is yet to comment on her clients’ situation.
