Lead singer for the Stone Temple Pilots Scott Weiland has been sentenced to 8 days in jail for driving while under the influence of alcohol DUI after pleading no contest.

He was arrested back on November 21 2007 after a collision on a ramp to a Los Angeles freeway, and subsequently found to be driving while drunk.

The plea was entered by his lawyer and it is not known when he will begin serving his sentence.

Weiland was also placed on four years’ unsupervised probation, ordered to enroll in an 18-month alcohol program and fined more than $1,600.

He might wanna get his jail time out of the way before May as the band is set to begin a 65 city tour.

This latest conviction was his second for a DUI offense.
