It is being reported that Los Angeles is the first city in the world to be home to 24/7 marijuana vending machines.
The prescription vending machines, or PVM’s are to be used by people who need to smoke a little dope for medicinal purposes, and can only be accessed via a thumb print and a special card.
As one may guess, law enforcement officials are pretty peeved off with the whole idea, and plan to keep a very close eye on the situation.
“Somebody owns (it), it’s on a property and somebody fills it,” said DEA Special Agent Jose Martinez. “Once we find out where it’s at, we’ll look into it and see if they’re violating laws.”
Vincent Mehdizadeh is the inventor of the devices and says that they offer convenient and low-priced anonymity for those who use them.
“It helps a lot of patients who are in a lot of pain and don’t want to wait around to get help,” said an employee at the Timothy Leary Medical Dispensary in the San Fernando Valley. “It’s been working out great.”
