It is being reported that a 13 year old heart patient has died at a Louisville hospital after undergoing a heart transplant.
On January 7, Marquis Popp, an 8th grader collapsed and was rushed to hospital where it was learned that he suffered from a congenital heart defect.
His community had organized a massive blood drive in his name, to help offset the blood volume that was given to him during and post operation, with more than 250 community residents rolling up their sleves for the cause.
“When you see children in need, you have to help,” said a blood donor, Kelly Stapp of Charlestown.
It is not yet known when Popps funeral will be held.
