It is being reported that diabetics are benefiting greatly from obesity surgery.
In many cases diabetics struggle with their weight, but new research has found that Bariatric surgery offers many benefits, and in some cases can even reverse the disease.充气城堡
For their study, Ausi researchers analyzed 60 obese individuals, all of whom had a body mass index of higher than 30 but less than 40.
They found that those diabetics who underwent obesity surgery were up to 5 times more likely to be able to get a handle on their diabetes than were those who did not undergo the surgery.
“This has important implications as it suggests that intensive weight-loss therapy may be a more effective first step in the management of diabetes than simple lifestyle change,” the researchers wrote.
The study is found in the Journal of the American Medical Association.
