Washington (ChatterShmatter) – Researchers have discovered that the use of animation along with sound may be able to help with the detection of autism in children.
Researchers from Yale conducted their study on 2-year old children, with the results being published in the journal Nature.
What they did in the study was to use animationi to basically create games for the kids to watch and listen to on the TV.
They would then split the screen, with half of it showing the animation upright, while the other half was reversed or something of that nature.
The idea behind it was to see what kids noticed it, and if it could detect autism.
Researchers discovered that those with autistic-spectrum disorder did not pick up on the reversal of the image.
Those who developed normally almost always focused on the upright image.
The belief is that this could lead to better detection of autism.
