Washington (ChatterShmatter) - It appears that condoms and the pope simply do not mix when it comes to fighting the AIDS epidemic in Africa.
Pope Benedict XVI has come out and stated that he does not believe that condoms are the answer to fighting AIDS.
Instead, he stated that the Vatican favors abstinence as the right way to combat the spread of AIDS.
This comes as there are more HIV infections announced every day in Africa and around the world.
The belief of the pope though is that the best way to fight AIDS is not with the use of condoms.
This has turned into a major issue around the world as many are unhappy with the pope.
The thought process behind the anger is that not all should have to follow the Catholic church in this manner.
He believes that abstinence is goig to be the best way to fight AIDS.
Health advocates are not happy with the pope as there are known health benefits to using condoms.
