Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band have been penciled in as the main performer for this year’s Super Bowl halftime show being held in Tampa Florida.
This is a huge hit for the NFL, who traditionally have stepped up to the plate when it comes to signing acts for the halftime show of the biggest football game of the year.
Springsteen joins acts such as Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2 to play the Super Bowl halftime show, which was watched last year by more than 148 million people and played by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The game is slated for February first at Raymond James Stadium, and will feature the champion from the NFC vurses the champion from the AFC.
In last years’ game, the New York Giants shocked the world by defeating the New England Patriots.

Why in the hell is bruce springsteen playing the halftime show? Just because Janets breast popped out doesn’t me you can’t get someone under 60 to preform at the biggest sporting event in the world. The NFL needs to loosen up and get a new fresh act or at least someone not eligalbe for S.S. In the last 15 yrs there have only been a couple of performs more then a couple years away from being a senior citizen. I think there should be some sort of voting system put in place. See who the people want to listen to at halftime. We are watching the best sport in the world with a bunch of 20somethings running around and then we have halftime where the act is old enough to be the players grandfather, listening to him sing he was born in the USA…probably back in 1937. Spice it up a little Goodell
