Ontario - A second death has been reported as the result of listeria contaminated meat, which is currently the subject of a massive Maple Leaf Foods recall in Canada.

The second death has been confirmed to be from Ontario, bringing the overall total of contaminated human cases to 13.

As well as the 13 confirmed cases, as many as 17 more cases are currently under investigation.

As a result of the outbreak, Maple Leaf Foods Inc. have been forced to close a manufacturing plant located in Toronto while the outbreak is investigated.

The exact source of the listeria contamination is not known, but the company has recalled all Deli Gourmet, Sure Slice, Schneiers, and Burns Bites products.

Listeria contamination presents like the flu, and can result in fever, vomiting, fever, diarrhea and fatigue.
