The documentary Man On Wire has been created to lend a glimpse into a truly amazing tightrope walker called Philippe Petit.

The focal point of the movie takes place when Petit attempts to walk a cable wire, spanning from one twin tower to the other.

The actual event, watched by hundreds of onlookers on the ground took place on August 7, 1974

Petit dazzled the crowd, walking back and fourth on the cable with no safety net or harness in a 45 minute stunning performance.

He was even seen kneeling and even lying down on the cable that was more than 110 stories from ground level.
