More cases of the West Nile virus have been reported in Huntington, resulting from mosquito traps set up in the area.

The virus is transmitted to humans via mosquito bites, thus limiting the number of infected mosquitoes is critical in the fight against the West Nile virus.

As well as the mosquitoes that tested positive for the virus, 4 crows and 1 blue jay were also found to be carrying the virus.

If a person becomes infected with the virus, they can exhibit a wide array of symptoms including but not limited too; rash, fever, vomiting, headache, body ache and nausea.

There are many things that humans can do to reduce their likelyhood of being bitten by a West Nile virus carrying mosquito. They include; wearing long pants and shirts when outside, wearing bugspray when outdoors, removing standing water from around your home and staying inside during dawn and dusk which are mosquito times of day.
