Homeland Security May Seize Laptops At Border Crossings

The Department Of Homeland Security has unvailed a new rule stating that they have the right to take a person’s laptop computer or other electronic device such as hard drives and cell phones when they attempt to cross the border for inspection.
The measure was introduced by the Bush Administration, and gives feds the right to take a travelers’ personal computer to an unknown location for an unknown period of time for inspection, even if there is no reason given.
Furthermore, anything that is found on the laptops can be shared with other government agencies for language translation and analysis.
The policies apply to anybody entering into the US, even US citizens returning home from abroad.
People will undoubtedly not be happy with the new law, and there is no date known for when it will kick in.
