
An elderly woman from Phoenix Arizona has died from the West Nile virus.
The virus is transmitted from mosquitoes to humans via mosquito bites, thus protecting yourself from the little critters is very important.
It often is diagnosed in the young, old, or people with a compromised immune system.
According to the Arizona Department of Health, the woman who died from the virus was in her 80’s.
Ways of protecting yourself from contracting West Nile, include wearing long pants and shirts when outside, wearing bugspray, and staying indoors during dawn and dusk.
