In a Phoenix court room yesterday, Rapper DMX pleaded not guilty to 2 charges of theft.
The charges relate to an incident back in April where he gave a fake name to avoid paying medical costs.
The rapper is charged with 1 count of taking someone elses identity, and 1 count of theft.
After entering his guilty plea, DMX treated reporters to a sudden outburst of rap, proclaiming his innocence.
The rap went a little like this:
“If and when you ever fall down, get back up. Drop something, stop fretting, pick that … back up, stand for something or fall for everything, wait for the right pitch or miss with every swing.”
The next court date for the 37 year old is on August 12.
