Reacting and treating signs associated with pre-diabetes can reduce your risk of actually developing the condition.
Pre-diabetes is the name given to a person’s blood sugar level that rises above normal, but not to the point where they would normally be considered a diabetic.
Generally, the people considered to be at risk of pre-diabetes include those who are obese, have a diet high in sugar, or have a family history of the disease.
The recommendation was made by the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, who state that early treatment can actually reduce the risk of actual diabetes setting in.
It is estimated that in the US, diabetes accounts for the 5th leading cause of death. Making things worse is the fact that more than 6 million Americans are living with it and they do not even know it.
