Patrick Swayze is currently working on the new A&e series The Beast despite being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer earlier this year.

From all accounts, he looks just like his old self, full of life and vigor.

In the series, he stars as FBI agent Charles Barker, who must teach all he knows to an up and coming detective, played by Australian actor Travis Fimmel.

“I’m a miracle dude … I don’t know why,” he said to pPeople mag.

It was unsure if he would continue the production of the series once he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but A&E have signed off on him and he is definitely looking solid in his role.

He continues to undergo treatment for his cancer at the Stanford University Medical Center, near San Francisco.

The show is set to premier on the network some time in 2009, and will be shot this summer in Chicago.
