Recent remarks made by Katherine Heigl, who withdrew from the Emmy running because she felt her material was not up to par, have not offended the creater
of Grey’s Anatomy.

She plays the popular Dr. Izzie Stevens on the show and many thought her remarks were her way of saying she wants out.

Heigl, a star of Grey’s Anatomy withdrew her name from the running in June, but according to show creater Shonda Rhimes, all is well on the set and she
is not insulted.

In withdrawing her name last month, Heigl stated that she is doing so: “in an effort to maintain the integrity of the academy organization.”

“I didn’t feel insulted,” Rhimes told reporters, as quoted by People.com, adding, “I love and respect Katie as an actress. But she is outspoken.”

According to ABC entertainment president Stephen McPherson: “There’s an unbelievable storyline for her which is really central to everything that’s going
to go on this season. We’re really excited about that.”
