Last night, Shea Stadium was rocking out to tunes of famous rocker Billy Joel.
The concert, the first of two to be played by Joel at the stadium was played to a sold house and included special guests Tony Bennett, John Mellencamp, Don Henley and John Mayer.
Joel belted out 30 of his greatest hits to the packed house, who appeared very appreciative of his effort.
The second show is slated for this Friday, with special guests rumored to include names such as Garth Brooks, Paul McCartney and Steven Tyler, fresh out of rehab.
“I want to thank the Beatles for letting us use their room,” he said after playing “She Loves You.” “The best band that ever was, the best band that ever will be.”
Shea Stadium will be closed in November of this year.
