The Baby Borrowers is the latest reality show to air on NBC, allowing teenagers to test drive parenthood.
The show does actually serve a purpose, as it introduces teen couples to the joys of parenthood to help make them understand the difficulties that come along with that little bundle of joy.
The babies that are being used for the show belong to couples who do not want their own mistakes as teens to be replicated by the baby borrowers.
The show, is actually one of the better reality shows when it comes to underlying motivation, as it reaffirms the “safe sex” message at every turn.
One such lady who lent her child to the show is Natalie Nichols, who herself got married and pregnant at 17, she is now 31.
“It completely changed my life,” she says. “I denied myself the experience of being a teenager.”
“When I was young, I was bullheaded. I thought I knew everything. Obviously I didn’t.”
On the show, the teen parents were shadowed by a professional nanny, to insure the child was always safe.
The parents also had constant access to their children.
“Every precaution was in place,” says Nichols. “I’d rather do this than hand my children over to some day care centers I’ve seen.”

Premiere episoide is tonight, 9pm on NBC. Make sure you watch. Especially if you’re a teen and think having a kid sounds like a giggle fest.
Man, I think bush should give up the wars on drugs, terror and freedom and just declare a war on teen pregnancy.
It sounds like those 17 girls in Gloucester were being taken for test drives. Dumb s luts. Too bad this show doiddn’t come out in time to show them what a stupid mistake they were making.
