ABC is recording quite a jump in ratings because of the NBA finals featuring the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.
According to network ratings, this year’s finals are being watched by more people, the most since 2004, even outranking one of the Stanley Cup playoff series shown by the network.
The 2004 finals featured the Lakers taking on the Detroit Pistons, and many think it is because of the star power on display in this year’s finals that is resulting in the boost in viewers.
Because of the huge spike in ratings, ABC is hoping that the series will go as many games as possible.
The Celtics won both games on their home floor, but last night, the Lakers bounced back winning game three thanks to 36 points by Kobe Bryant.
Overall, the tital for television ratings last week, went to Fox, due to their reality TV shows; “Hell’s Kitchen” and “So You Think You Can Dance.”
