According to actress Sharon Stone, who was interviewed during the Cannes Film Festival in France the earthquakes in China that have killed 80,000 people have resulted from bad Karma, attained by the Chinese in their dealings with Tibet.
“At first, I’m not happy with the way the Chinese are treating the Tibetans,” she said. “And then all this earthquake and stuff happened and I thought, ‘Is that Karma, when you’re not nice that the bad things happen to you?
During her interview, Stone, 50, stated that she had recently gotten a letter from the leader of a Tibetan organization who were planning a disaster relief mission in China.
She stated that sometimes even when things are not going your way, you need to simply put your head down and get on with things.
“That made me cry,” she said referring to the letter she received. “Sometimes you have to learn to put your head down and be of service, even to people who aren’t nice to you. That’s a big lesson for me.”
Shame on you, Sharon and your friend! World, please look at what kind people are those who love Dalai Lama… How dare you talk about human rights, are you even a human?
This woman has a cold stone heart and blame the 60,000 Chinese people’s death on bad karma. I couldn’t believe how stupid she can be!!! No one ever said 9.11 was “Karma”. because we know respect to the dead.

Why does anyone care what Sharon Stone says? Does she have credentials in religious studies, world politics, or any social science? I cannot find anything in her bio that suggests an advanced degree in any field, relevant or otherwise, or any substantial amateur research credentials. Yet, here we are talking about what she said as though it has any meaning. How silly of us.

Natural disasters happen. And it happens all over the world. Linking it to karma is simply superstition. If Stone’s analogy is correct, should we blame those high tsunami death tolls to bad karma too?

Yes! Karma effects individually or collectively. But it is a complicated phenomenon when it comes to collective Karma and is not well understood.
But she’s right, you know, and she is very intelligent, over the heads of most of the commentators. But then, everything is karma, strictly speaking — yes, even 9/11. Karma is very mysterious, not easy to understand, but it is there, as much a natural law as the law of gravity.

Certainly the treatment of the Chinese towards the Tibetans is really bad, but may be we cant blame everything on fate…..i mean its has to be wat it has been there….but just for the killing of 10k Tibetans…. this is too much…i mean 80k Chinese ….may be each Tibetan is equivalent to 8 Chinese….:)

I trully support Ms Sharon Stone’s comment. I know Chinese can’t understand “Karma” or “Law or Karmic”, for that you need deep buddhist studies. When we lost not nation, many tibetan people except that it was the result of the “collective Karmic” of their pass life or so so.. of Tibetans.
Recent earthquake in China, every body is sad. She had mention is clearly. But law of karmic is true too. You have to except it.. no matter what timing may be.. No one change the karma. If you ask any chinese who had a good buddhist knowledge, I am sure they will except it.
Scinece, geography, nature is there. But at the same you can not deny the law of Karma. But sad thing is that in present days people follow more of outer developement rather then inner developement. If you except law of karmic, this will definately reduce you suffering and will give you the inner peace.

Before you supported Stone’s statement, please take out a map and study the earthquake region first. Actually, more than half of the residents in the region are Tibetans. They suffered from the Earthquake just as much as those ethical Chinese.
So, those Tibetan victims are cursed by Karma as well?

Earthquake is a natural disaster and has nothing to do with Chinese government and Chinese people. The epicenter of this earthquake is located within Tibetan and Qiang Ethnic Autonomous District. Many victims are Tibetan and Qiang ethnics. By the way, all countries recognize that Tibet is part of China. It must be clear that Chinese government only reformed slavery system of old Tibet but didn’t change Tibet’s culture. Tibetan has every right that Han Chinese people have but Han Chinese don’t have many privileges that Tibetan have. Living standard of Tibetan is dramatically improved. Go to Tibet, find the truth for yourself. Current Tibet issue is a politic game by which Western countries are against China.
