Sources have reported that the latest gay couple to announce their intent to marry are celebrity George Takei and his partner Brad Altman.
Writing on his web site, Takei, 71, stated that he and Brad could not be happier. “Our California dream is reality,” he wrote.
Last week, Ellen announced her intent on getting married to her longtime partner after the California Supreme Court overturned a law banning the practice of gay marriages in the state.
“Brad Altman and I can now marry. We are overjoyed! At long last, the barrier to full marriage rights for same-sex couples has been torn down,” he continued.
George, a former fixture on Star Trek and Brad have been together for more than 20 years.
Currently a date for the wedding is not known: “For now, Brad and I are enjoying the delicious dilemma of deciding where, when, and how we will be married,” said George.
