Media Not Allowed Access To R. Kelly Child Porn Trial

The judge presiding over the R. Kelly child pornography trial has stated that there will be no media allowed in the courtroom during the proceedings.
Judge Vincent Gaughan did say however that the trial transcripts would be released to the media following the conclusion of the trial.
He stated that keeping everything private was the only way of insuring a fair trial and has also refused to lift a gag order that is in place to insure that lawyers do not talk about the trial.
Kelly has pled not guilty to video taping himself having sex with a 13 year old girl. If he is found guilty he could spend 15 years in jail.
The jurer selection for his trial has finished and opening arguments begin next Tuesday May 20.
