Less TV Commercials For Upcoming Fox Action Dramas

The Fox television network has announced their intentions to cut back the number of commercials that are aired during two new action dramas “Fringe” and “Dollhouse.”
“remote-free TV,” is the term that this fact has been labeled by Fox Entertainment chairman Peter Liguori, who also stated that the network was doing this to focus more on what viewers wanted.
“Fringe” will premier on Fox this coming August, while “Dollhouse,” will not be premiering until next January.
The amount of commercials that are shown during the shows will be approximately 5 minutes per each hour of show, half the regular amount.
“We’re going to have less commercials, less promotional time and less reason for viewers to use the remote,” Liguori said. “We’re going to have more character, more content, more value.”
“Remote-free TV. It’s a simple concept and potentially revolutionary,” he said. “We’re going to redefine the viewing experience.”
By showing less commercials, Liguori states that it only makes sense that advertisers would have to pay more for the limited commercial time.
