News Anchor Sue Simmons Apologizes For On Air Blunder
May 14th, 2008 | by admin |
Television anchor Sue Simmons for a New York news broadcast publically apologized on air yesterday after swearing on camera.
She was caught dropping an “F sharp” when talking about the cost of groceries, and was only to quick to break out the sorry speech.
“We need to acknowledge an unfortunate mistake that I made in one of the teases we bring to you before this program,” Simmons said during the newscast. “While we were live just after 10 o’clock, I said a word that many people find offensive. I am truly sorry. It was a mistake on my part, and I sincerely apologize.”
Simmons has been working at WNBC since 1980, and in all her years with the network has never slipped up like this.
It is not sure if she will be punished or not, but what is clear is that many viewers were not happy with what they heard.
Following the “flub” the station received more than 100 calls from upset viewers.

What is wromg with america? She made an honest mistake. It was just the slip of the tonuge and she apologized shrtly therafter and not a day later like others would. Those uptight people who act like they have never said one of those words need to take a look at themselves. At one time or another, no matter how much of saint, we have all said one of those words intenionally or not. My advice, get over it and move on and let the lady continue what she has been doing for Thirty years.
