It is being reported that 4 more contestants have been sent packing from American Idle as the voting public sent Alaina Whitaker, Jason Yeager, Robbie Carrico and Alexandrea Lushington, home once and for all.

Whitaker, did not take the news well, breaking down and sobbing after the announcement was made by host Ryan Seacrest. “Sorry, this is so embarrassing,” she sobbed.

For her swan song Whitaker performed “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” and the other remaining female hopefuls gathered around the young singer.

“You are a gifted, bright young talent. … This is the start of an amazing career from you,” said judge Paula Abdul, who gave Whitaker a standing ovation.

Simon Cowell wasn’t surprised by the fact that Yeager got the boot.

“Your problem _ quite simply _ is that you don’t stand out in the crowd at the moment,” the cranky judge told Yeager, a 28-year-old single dad from Grand Prairie, Texas.

Carrico, was informed that his performance was just not one that felt real, and Lushington, a 17-year-old Douglasville, Ga., resident (and a snappy dresser and favorite of judge Randy Jackson’s), simply was not confident enough.

Dear Simon - growing up in England my Mother always commented on the fact that clothes maketh the man. Get with it Simon lets see you in something else other than the same sweater and jeans. You are such a good looking man - just flaunt it. A big fan of yours

    yay for simon
in years to come it will be simons comments which they all remember. As a person trying to visually impress people nothing makes it easier than if someone honest and straightforward is kind enough to say where the mistakes are being made
